Quilt Top Finish

Do you remember the drawing I won for a gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop (I posted about it here). I still love the quilt pattern I was thinking of using on that earlier blog post but I came across a post at Crazy Mom Quilts that shows how to make a ragged squares quilt. CLICK HERE to check out the tutorial. I needed a queen size top but fortunately I had lots of blue in my fabric stash to add to the fat quarter bundle of blues. The top was a little too big for my dear husband to get the whole thing in the photo but you get the idea. I can't wait to sandwich it and wash it to create the fuzzy edges.

This is my excuse for not cross stitching very much lately.

I haven't been doing much cross stitching this month.  The little pile of blue and green orts on the top are ready to be added to the jar.  I outlined 25 ornament backs in  blue and stitched green numbers in the centers for the advent calendar ornaments.  I almost fainted a few days ago when someone pointed out that Christmas was 5 months away.
