End of Year Post

Merry Christmas

I finished a couple of the Pinker n Punkin free chart. The pink is on 14 count aida and the tan is a scrap of 18 count aida that was in my stash. I wish I had labeled the fabric because I love how soft it is.

I also started "Mom's Best Homemade pies in the August 1993 issue of Cross Country Stitching

xs Xmas Card Pink Stocking

I finished the Sue Hillis pink Stocking that I had started last week.  That's all the stitching that I did this week - I spent the rest of my play time thinking about how to make these little finishes into ornaments to put in the Christmas cards.  I think it's time to stop thinking about them and actually try to finish one - I may use this finish for my first try.

Wish me luck

Have a great week of stitching ♥

xs Xmas Cards again

I am working on a pink stocking designed by Sue Hillis.  In the middle is a truck from Pinker n Punkin's blog and the boy pulling a sled is another Ellen Maurer-Stroh from her advent calendar.

I have been busy making orange cookies that my grandma used to make when I was a little girl.  The recipe is in the right margin at the very top - the most popular post on my blog.   I hope you click on the picture for the post and decide to make some.

Have a great weekend of stitching ♥

2 more Xmas Card WIPS

The first chart  of the manger is a modification of a Pinker n Punkin free chart that is part of her Prim series - it can be downloaded here .  I like the original much more than this modification but I needed something square for the particular card blank I am going to put this in.

The cat with Christmas balls was something that I must have downloaded years ago but unfortunately, I did not save information as far as designer or where I found it.

So now there are two more finished stitches that will be for Christmas Cards.  I have started thinking maybe I should try to make ornaments that will fit in the Christmas Card blanks.  I will puzzle over that while I pick out some more charts to stitch.

I hope you have time to do some stitching over the weekend

XS Wips

I have been doing some stitching so I should share some pictures.

The first picture is my progress on The Victoria Sampler Christmas Treasures Collection.  A few of the charts have been substituted from other sites but I think I will finish stitching those pieces from the collection because the substituted pieces don't really seem to go with the others from Victoria Sampler as far the style

This next photo has the two charts I have stitched for Christmas Cards. The angel facing to the right is a chart by Lesley Teare which can be found on her blog.  She has a sampler of Christmas charts for 2021.  The duck pull toy is a part of a chart from an advent calendar designed by Ellen Maurer-Stroh.  I am not sure where you could find her advent calendar - I downloaded it years ago when she offered it for free.

Help me find this chart

EDIT:  wow! it has already been found.  It's called Mom's Best and is in the August 1993 issue of Cross Country Stitching.  I found the magazine at an Etsy shop and I have already ordered it.  I couldn't be more grateful ♥

Mom's Best Homemade Pies.

I found this picture of a cross stitched piece on line.  I have been searching for it in so many places and now I have lost the place where I first saw it.  It does show up on pinterest occasionally but it does not list the information that would help me google it.

It may have published in a magazine for all I know.

Does anyone know anything about this design - designer or publication?

If anyone has this design for sale I am most eager to stitch this so send me your price.

Thank you for any help you can give me

Liberty Lane Finish

It's finished ♥

My white stars don't show up very well on the white fabric.  I outlined the stars on either side of "Liberty Lane" with blue but I am not sure I like it enough to outline the remaining stars at the top between the bunting.

Have a great rest of the week

Liberty Lane WIP

Here's my progress on Liberty Lane by Country Cottage Needleworks:

I am on the last line so I almost thought I should wait until it's finished to post a picture.

Then I realized that everything seems to take longer than I think it should so it could be another month before a picture got posted

Quilt and XS WIPs

This is my quilt top I finished this week.  I watched a video from Missouri Star Quilt Co and I knew I had to try this  pattern.  Here is a link to the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2r_n3seVNQ

I also did a little (a very little) bit of stitching on Liberty Lane this week

Here is a link to Rita's blog so you can see her finish:  http://stitchnchat-rita.blogspot.com/2010/06/finish.html

I also started a new baby quilt.  This is called Town Village Circle and it is in the book called Time Saving Charm Quilts.  CLICK HERE to see where I found this.

I do not have the tri rec rulers but here is the site that explains how to make the triangle blocks:  https://www.stringandstory.com/blog/trirecs

I have one more row that goes all the way around to cut before I will start sewing the blocks together.

What a year

Oh my goodness, it's so good to be back stitching in my play room!

I have passed on my crochet hobby to my granddaughters.  The youngest one seems to enjoy it a lot so I am hoping she can use some of the yarn and patterns.  If not maybe she knows someone who would enjoy some of the items that do not interest her.

I am looking forward to some quilting and I started cross stitching again a couple of months ago.

I finished the second book of cross stitched bible verses and I am auditioning some quilting fabric to go with the 16 finished cross stitched patterns.

Here are pictures of my latest finishes, the books of bible verses and some possible fabrics.  Here is a link to earlier blog posts of the first book of bible verses that were finished a few years ago (it includes this post from today so just scroll down past it to see the earlier posts) - bible verses from first book
