Is this my last 2012 finish?

I stitched the right side of the chart "Bethlehem" by Imaginating. I used DMC floss 938 on a piece of 18 count Fiddlers Cloth (I don't know why the fabric looks blue in the picture because it is really tan).
Thanksgiving was wonderful for our family. There was a lot of kitchen duty but it was certainly worth it to have it here at our house. After thanksgiving was a hunting trip for the boys and my birthday has come and gone for another year.


I feel like I have been spending too much time with domestic duties so I am delighted that I was able to find time for one more cross stitch finish this year.

I have a finish!

This is my Stoney Creek Woodland Christmas Stocking.
I can't believe I started this in February and I am already done :). I am so excited with this finish - I can't remember ever making (and frogging) so many french knots.
We are having Thanksgiving here this year so I have really pushed to get this done so I can start cleaning and cooking.

Christmas Stocking WIP

I am slowly stitching away on my Christmas Stocking WIP and I have decided I am not allowed to interrupt this project with any other cross stitching.  The top picture was my progress in mid-July.
I will be so excited to finish this and be able to stitch something else. I think everything I stitch any more takes 10 times longer than I think it will.
I am doing the back stitching as I go (I have never tried this before) so I truly will be done when I get to the bottom of the stocking.

Another XS Finish

I just finished the backstitching on this one. If you click the picture it will take you to the Ellen Maurer-Stroh cross stitch board. Once you register you will have access to her free charts - this one is called Summer Bouquet. This is going to be one of the blocks in a flower quilt that is being assembled for a group of stitchers so I will need to get it in the mail now.

I ran out of some of the floss so while I puzzled over how to get more without a trip to Phoenix very little stitching was done. I finally just ordered a bunch of floss from 123 Stitch! and was able to continue working on this wip.

Easter Basket and my sister.

My older sister passed away this last weekend so I am not very productive today and probably won't be until more of the shock wears off.
I do want to say thank you to RhondaWoman71 of the blog called "All this and a bag of chips too" for giving me the Liebster Blog award. I did make 2 chenille Easter Bunnies with the tutorial and pattern at Sew Much Ado. CLICK HERE to get the instructions. I did sew mine together with an exposed seam so the seam would be raggy, too. I have washed these 3 times and they do fluff up more with each washing.  Pay more attention than I did to how you cut out the ear patterns - I think the top bunny ears look better with the chenille running the length of the ear instead the way the bottom bunny ears have the chenille going across the ears.  I just sewed across the ears when I assembled the front and back pieces so they are hanging down along side the bunny instead of standing up above the head.
I think if I make these again I will wash the chenille several time before I cut out the patterns.  The seam that assembles the front to back seems to hinder the fluffing - you can really tell in the difference in the ears which do not have a seam around them (just at the top where they are attached to the body).

Crochet WIPS

I finished a dress and hat for our granddaughter's baby doll and I hope to have some booties for her before her upcoming birthday.  The dress is a pattern designed by Mary E. Layfield called "Darlin' Daisy Dresses - Debby".  CLICK HERE for the free hat pattern. I made the hat that came with the dress pattern but it looked so bad and I could not figure out what went wrong so I changed it to this free hat pattern.

I have also started to crochet an African Flower Afghan but I only have 10 hexagons done. CLICK HERE to get this free pattern.
