2016 1st Finish

Yay!  I have my first finish for 2016.
May I present Flight to Egypt stitched on black 18 count aida.
I stitched the star with dmc white (B5200) instead of the shiny metallic suggested with the chart.
I am getting a little better working with the metallic floss but the white stands out enough for me on the black fabric.

Flight to Egypt WIP

I didn't stitch very much in December but there is a little progress on my current Flight to Egypt wip.

Thanksgiving and WIP

This is our Turkey Breast from last Sunday.  We carved up the turkey before we roasted it with guidelines found on line here.  It was the most wonderful moist turkey breast I have ever served.  The dark meat pieces were also very moist.  The best part was that while I brined the breast roll, legs, thighs and main wing pieces,  I roasted the back pieces to get some dark brown scrapings for the gravy and simmered the giblets and wing tips for the turkey broth.  Now, I didn't have to wait until the turkey was done roasting to start the gravy.   Last Sunday was the most delightful day of family, food and fun but I will admit I have been mostly resting/trying to stay awake for the last few days.

I haven't stitched very much lately but I hope to spend some time today on my wip.

Flight to Egypt WIP

I know, I know -
I should be "finishing" my Thanksgiving WIP (or at least cleaning the house) but I couldn't help myself - I started another Christmas chart.
This is called "Flight to Egypt" - the chart is in a leaflet called A Stoney Creek Christmas .
I do enjoy cross stitching much more than finishing so this will keep me occupied until the urge to do some finishing hits me.
I am stitching on black 18 count aida, which I was not looking forward to but I place a white sheet of paper on the table under the fabric and it's not as difficult as I thought it would be.
