Finally Finished a Finish

I am so pleased with myself :).
My Laundry Room cross stitch is hanging in my laundry room and it puts a smile on my face each time I see it - and it really is hanging straighter  than it looks in the picture.
Many thanks to my dh for attaching a hanger on the back and finding the perfect nail to put in the wall.
I hope everyone is stitching something this weekend.

Quilt WIP

This is the quilt top that I felt so motivated to make this week.  The picture is maybe upside down but you get the idea.
I am still trying to decide about adding a 4" red border.  That would make the top 60" x 80" which is such a nice size.  I do like the top without the border a lot though so I don't want to change the look too much.
The inspiration for this quilt top was a picture on facebook of a beautiful quilt by Kelly Cline in We The Quilters Share Click here to see her quilt with some wonderful quilting.
Have a great week.

Singer Sphinx Yard Sale Find

Edit:  I think Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville has the answer to what this machine is.  CLICK HERE to read an article on her blog.  Thank you to everyone.

DH found this Singer with Sphinx decals at a yard sale.  It was $10 so when he called to tell me about it, we decided it should be mine, even if it's only a shelf decoration.  It does not have a motor.  I cannot tell what parts are missing.  I can turn the hand wheel and the mechanics are not seized but I have no idea how it's supposed to work or if it's even a real Singer.  Here are a bunch of pictures we took after I applied a dust rag to it.  Does anybody know anything about it?  The number underneath looks like 546815.

Any and all information you can share about this machine would be most appreciated.

Singer 221 Update

Today I received the cabinet for the Singer 221 Featherweight my dh got me for my birthday.

I ordered a Maple cabinet from B&D Design

DH has replaced the light socket and I need to install new feet and a new drip pan liner.  With the new feet installed it will sit perfectly in the cabinet since it wobbles a little bit with some missing feet.

One more cleaning and then I can start a new quilt for the first project with it.

Following are some more pictures of my 221 in her new home.

Here is a picture of the scrollwork on the door of the featherweight.

Rest Stop Finish

I am so excited to be finished stitching Rest Stop.
I have a new quilting project that has completely distracted me so I must get back to it.
More later

Rest Stop WIP

I actually did some cross stitching this week!
This is a very fun stitch but I hope to finish it very soon as I have another chart calling my name.  There is some metallic thread that will need to be done but I am hoping it won't be too stressful to work with.
My last update was late January on this wip and I can't believe I let it sit for so long.
Happy Easter
