The other Christmas Stocking I stitched was a big project for me so I decided to do the back stitching as I went along - it was so nice to be done when I got to the bottom of that stocking that I will do the same with this stocking.

Good idea! I like doing the backstitching at the same time. It gives you a real sense of how much you've accomplished when you see all the little details come to life.
