Camp Cozy Project and Machine Woes

I am not a camper, hunter, hiker or backpacker but the rest of the family enjoys the great outdoors. Here is the latest Camp Cozy batch ready for distribution to family and friends.  I do have tutorial page (far right at the top).  CLICK HERE if you want to know either what they are for or how to make them.

My sewing machine (a Sears Kenmore from 1970) needs a new belt and I have not found anyone to work on it in our little town. DH thinks I am silly because I don't want our Sears Service Center to ship it out of town for repair but that's me. I am fortunate that I received DH's grandmother's sewing machine about 7 years ago (see the picture to the left). This little princess was brought to America by his grandmother from England. Once I studied the manual and put it to work I have found that this is a great little machine (so I am not under pressure to do anything with my Sears darling that I am not comfortable doing).

I won! I won!

Oh my goodness, I am so excited! I won the drawing at ...just one more stitch. It was a $25 gift certificate to spend at the Fat Quarter Shop.
I immediately wondered how many Moda Marbles pieces of fabric I could choose. Much to my surprise I fell in love with this little fat quarter bundle (click on the picture to check out all of the goodies you can buy at the Fat Quarter Shop). I just found out it was already in Phoenix and about to find its way to me.

I have not been able to stop thinking about this quilt pattern since I first saw it. I think the fat quarters are going to turn into this quilt top. if you click on the picture you will find instructions for making this lovely quilt top and it's much easier than it looks.

AmericaLTWL Progress and a Question

I have finished a few more squares so here's an updated picture.
I love the feeling of accomplishment when each little square is finished.





I was looking ahead and I noticed that Nebraska has a rather large pig to be stitched.  I can't explain it but I am not looking forward to stitching this pig so I have been puzzling over something else for that square.
I found this picture of an ear of corn and thought to myself that it made me think of Nebraska more than a large pig did.  If you click on the picture it will take you to the site where you can download the chart - it's almost at the end of the page of free charts.
I may have to turn this on its side but I will play with it before I get to Nebraska.  Has anyone else seen any small charts of an ear of corn?  Or is there something else that makes you think of Nebraska?

TUSAL for June

I am so glad I am not late this month.

As you can see (in my little portable ort jar on top), I don't have very many orts to add to my TUSAL jar this month but every little bit means some stitching did get done.
