Folk Art Nativity WIP

I have started the Folk Art Nativity figures from the Cross Stitcher magazine (April 2003).
Joseph and Mary are stitched and the Angel is started.
I don't know if these will be finished as ornaments or the standing figures shown in the magazine.  I have never made a flat fold but it crossed my mind that it might work for these figures.  There is plenty more to stitch so I can ponder these options as I continue stitching.

I need help finding a chart

Can anyone tell me how I can find this chart so I can stitch an ornament for this Christmas?
Any and all clues will be very much appreciated.

Finish for Bathroom

I was browsing through my stash because I could not come up with a plan for what I should stitch next.  When I read the lines at the bottom of this chart I knew I had to stitch it.  It's a bit of a family joke that whenever I am home alone the phone only rings when I am in the bathroom.
This chart is in a leaflet called Necessary Room by Rayna Designs (charts by Rae Nebraska).
I am looking for the perfect material to make this into a wall hanging.

My next project is most likely going to be Folk Art Nativity figures from the Cross Stitcher magazine (April 2003).

ALTWL is Finished

It's always so exciting to put the last stitch in a project - especially when it's been such a long time since the first stitch was done.
This is stitched on white 18 count aida but for some reason this photo has turned the fabric to a light blue color.
I am so thrilled about this finish that my mind is completely blank about what my next cross stitch project will be.
I think I will catch up on my house work and enjoy the excitement of this long awaited finish before I puzzle over what to do next.

Free Chart US Capitol

Here is the chart that I made to use in my Washington DC square for the America Land That We Love wip that I am working on.
As I look at the stitched square I think the capitol building could have been a little smaller to fit in the square better.  I have decided to  move on and see if it grows on me before the rest of the wip is finished.

I am not sure how or if the chart can be printed from this blog.  It's such a small chart I don't think it would take too long to draw it on some graph paper if it can't be printed directly from here.

ALTWL WIP

Yay, I have finished all 50 states!
I changed the rightmost square on the bottom row to a Washington DC square.  I think I will put a flag in the leftmost square on the bottom row with my initials and the year.
All that's left will then be "Land that we love" on the very last row.
It's time to start thinking about what my next cross stitch project will be.

America Land That We Love WIP

I have been so busy stitching this WIP that time has gotten away from me.  I was stitching Michigan the last time I took a picture which was posted over a year ago (May 23, 2014).  When I finish the row I am stitching there are only 4 more states to stitch on the final row.  This pattern by Jean Farish is available in her Etsy shop (CLICK HERE) for a pdf download of the pattern.

Easter Cross Finish

I have finished the cross stitching on my Easter Cross.  Now I want to make a banner out of this with some green fabric in my quilting stash - but not today.
I must say thank you to the clever lady on the 123 Stitch message board who posted a tip about working with the metallic threads...I was having fits with the thread until I read about putting a slip knot with the short end right up near the eye of the needle.  Prior to that after about every 5 or 6 stitches the metallic thread would slip out of the needle and have to be re-threaded.
I really felt like I was the "boss of the floss" once I put a slip knot every time I threaded the needle with the metallic thread.

Easter Cross Progress

For those who observe Memorial Day, I hope you had a very nice holiday weekend.
I am stitching away on  my Easter Cross and this is such a very enjoyable project for me.
However, I am constantly distracted by other shiny things that my eyes land on - so once again I am in a bit of a hurry to finish this WIP.
There is another quilt that is calling to me now.
I saw a video of a quilt that reminds me of "Hidden Wells", which I had forgotten about for many years.  CLICK HERE to watch a beautiful 3 Dudes Quilt top come together with  with Rob Appell of Man Sewing and Jenny Doan of the Missouri Quilt Company.
Happy Stitching.

Easter WIP

I just can't seem to keep up with the holidays.  I am working on my Easter WIP today.  This cross is in the Cross Stitcher magazine dated April 2005.  I saw a picture of this finished as a banner on the 123 Stitch message board and I knew that I had to stitch it some day and recreate the banner.  I really am such a copy cat but I can't help myself when I see how someone gets a finish exactly right.

DGD couldn't find her Hook

My 9 year old grand daughter could not find a crochet hook so she started crocheting this afghan with her fingers.  She is such a clever little girl to be able to deal with the problem of not being able to find what she needs when she needs it.
Can you see her tennis shoe under her hip?  Do you remember those days of not giving a second thought to being able to contort your body into that position?

Finally Finished a Finish

I am so pleased with myself :).
My Laundry Room cross stitch is hanging in my laundry room and it puts a smile on my face each time I see it - and it really is hanging straighter  than it looks in the picture.
Many thanks to my dh for attaching a hanger on the back and finding the perfect nail to put in the wall.
I hope everyone is stitching something this weekend.
