O Holy Night WIP

I have finished the first Wise Man and started the second one (only white stitches so far on that one).
I really need to stop crocheting for a while and make a lot more progress on this wip.
Enjoy some stitching - even if you are watching the MLB  playoff games - GO D'BACKS!

XS and Crochet

I found a pattern for a gingham pumpkin on line and it seemed like it should be with my other pumpkins.  CLICK HERE to get the free pattern for the large pumpkin.
I have stitched a little more on the first wise man of the nativity project.

Have a fun, crafty week

Crocheted Pumpkins

I found a free pattern on line to make pumpkins and it seemed like something that I needed to do.
Here is a link to the pattern click here
This is a medium and a small pumpkin in the back and the one in the front is the small pattern but I stitched half double crochets for rows 7 through 10.  These are so much fun to make but I need to get back to my nativity cross stitching.
thank you for looking.

Nativity WIP

I am back to cross stitching my O Holy Night Nativity.  This week I stitched the straw below the donkey and started the first of the three wise men.
I am also playing with a crochet pattern I found on the internet for some pumpkins but I don't really have anything to show with that project yet.
Happy Stitch Days to all.

Harvey Help

The pictures of the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey are so very sad but at the same time it is so uplifting to see the outpouring of love and assistance provided to Texas by people from all over the country.
This first quilt top is a free pattern by Judy Laquidara.  CLICK HERE  to go to her instructions.  The pattern is called
Out of the Bag and it is a little over half way down the page that the link takes you to.
The Quilt Haus in New Braunfels, TX is accepting donations to make quilts for Hurricane Harvey survivors.  I am sending a couple of quilt tops for them to finish into quilts and distribute.  They have a Facebook page here.
They "are accepting donations of fabric, quilt tops, orphan blocks, backing fabric, batting, gently used quilts, and even cash donations to supply as many quilts as we can, as quickly as we can, to those displaced and suffering from this disaster."

A Week of Patchwork

No cross stitching for another week (:
I saw a picture of this quilt and I couldn't do anything else until I tried it.
Here is where you can purchase the pattern:
It's been a while since I did any quilting and some of my quilting brain cells appeared to be on vacation this past week.  I used a half yard bundle of Boundless Blender Ombre Rainbow fabric - you can see where I purchased the fabric  here.
I used 2.5" strips and my top ended up 47" wide x 59" high.
I am thinking of using a light blue small checked gingham fabric for the back but I usually have to puzzle over something like that before I sandwich the top and backing fabric.
I hope nothing else distracts me from finishing the cross stitching on my nativity this coming week..

Crocheted Witch and Outdoorsman

I found a pattern on ravelry to crochet a witch for Halloween.  CLICK HERE to see where to buy the pattern.
I learned some new techniques while doing this pattern and the invisible decrease is my favorite - here's a video.
I like the perfect stripes technique too which can be seen here.
I am thinking of making another little witch but the broom is a bit too fiddly for me so the next witch probably will not have a broom.

This next one is a free pattern called a Weebee which can be found here I just sort of free hand crocheted the hat and the bib part of the overalls so there isn't a pattern for them.  I probably couldn't recreate them if I tried.
This second one used a size G crochet hook so it's bigger than the witch.

My daughter will be here tonight so I can give them to her to find a good home for each of them.

Cow and Donkey Done

I have finished the cow and the donkey as well as a lot of the straw at the bottom that I have been skipping over to get to the more fun parts.
The 3 wise men are what is left on the right side and then there will be the border around the whole thing.  I am actually feeling like the end is near which seemed impossible in the early days of this project.
I am trying to crochet a witch for a Halloween decoration so I am not sure how much stitching will be done in the upcoming week.  I purchased a ravelry pattern that is giving this old brain a real work out.  Here is a link to the pattern:  http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rosie-the-witch

Have a wonderful week of whatever you find time to do.

The last of the Sheep

I didn't stitch a lot this week but I have finished Joseph and I have done most of the stitching for the last of the sheep.
I need to backtrack and do some of the straw at the bottom so there isn't so much left to be done at the end.  I never get tired of looking at this.

Take time to stitch whenever you can.

Joseph's Robe

We have been visited off and on this week by 2 of the sweetest grand daughters anyone could imagine - as well as my lovely daughter and her husband.  They are such delightful and busy people.
The excitement did not deter me from working in some stitching time so I was able to make some progress on Joseph's robe.
I expect I will have more progress to show next time but then what do I know.
Enjoy any stitching time you find this week.

So much progress ♥

I am starting on Joseph this week so I have reached the half way point.  Actually I will still have the border to do after the main picture is completed so not quite halfway.
When I asked dh to take a picture of my wip I realized that it is going to be very hard to get a picture of the entire wip unless I take it out of the stretcher bars so I said "just take a picture of what's here in the center - I am not too concerned about the far left".
He looked at me with shock and said "You're Not??!"
I was about to explain my thought process when it dawned on me what words had just come out of my mouth so I explained to him that my remark had nothing to do with politics.
I guess it's very hard to avoid politics in this day and age.
Wishing you many hours of stitching this week end.

Nativity Stitching

I stitched a couple of lambs and started the manger after backstitching the angel this week.

Have a very happy holiday weekend if you are celebrating.
